Welcome back

English
We're continuing our unit on stories with predictable phases. This week we looked at the story Owl Babies.

We acted out the story using puppets. We had a great actor for the character of Bill, portraying his personality and voice.

The children recapped the story back to me so I could make a story map. The next day they drew their own.

If you feel like a bit of more owl babies at home I found this lovely animation of it. Owl Babies

OH, I almost forgot, We did some super cute pictures of Sarah, Percy and Bill, the Owl Babies. We use cotton wool to get a fluffy textured base. Then used sponges and bits of paper to add in the other details of eyes, beaks and Sarah's branch to sit on.

Here is a selection by
Nathan, Noah
Jack, Albert,
Eesah, Adam A,
Lois, Millie.

We started on Brown Bear, Brown Bear. What do you see? Next week, we will continue the pattern and start adding in our own animals of different colours.

Maths
This week we were learning about money, what each coin in worth and starting to count in 1ps, and 2ps. To finish we thought about different ways that we could make 10p. such as
2p + 2p + 2p + 2p +2p = 10p
5p + 5p = 10p
1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 2p + 2p +2p = 10p

Computing
We learnt how to save files in our own folders. To test this out we did the most fun thing ever to do with paint; draw a scribbley line and then fill it in with the paint bucket.
The main skill we were working on was saving it in the correct place, so If the name doesn't match the picture it was saved in the wrong folder and if there isn't a picture at all, it was saved at all.
