"BEST DAY EVER!"

So we went to the park this week, what a nice surprise.

Some children even said it was the BEST DAY EVER!

As a result of the trip, we were able to write sentences, focusing on rehearsing what we were going to say, writing it, then re-reading it to make sure it still makes sense.

We've made a plan of what we're going to write about our trip to the park ready for Monday.

And collected a bunch of useful vocabulary we will need next week when make our time conjunction sentences to recount about our trip to the park. It's all really smart stuff.

Maths
In maths we've been doing all things number, counting forwards, backwards, in 2s, in 10s.

We've been making numbers using numicon, base 10, number cards.

We've been making 10 using addition sentences and whole fact families.

We are whizzing in maths!

Science
We're still learning about plants, we now know what wild plants (also known as weeds) are and how they just appear, whereas garden plants are put into the ground on purpose. Next week we will be learning about evergreen and deciduous trees and what the difference is. We might even get the chance to plant some conkers and acorns.

PE - Yoga
Sandridge School becoming more mindful to boost energy levels, help control and understand emotions, improve concentration and many more things. So Year One have been practicing breathing, mindful colouring and now yoga. As Miss Morris is not a Yoga Joan, she has enlisted the help of Cosmic Kids. We looked at 2 namastories about an ant and a banana, then followed along with the stories acting them out using yoga positions. I think it went quite successfully.

Geography
As we are learning about our local area, I thought it might be fun for us to build our own little model of Sandridge. So next Thursday it would be really really helpful if you brought in some recycling for junk modelling.
