We learnt about Diwali a couple weeks ago. is the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance."

Then we made Diva lamps to celebrate the festival of light. These have come home with you today.
Diwali also pays tribute to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and lanterns are lit to guide her into people's homes.
