Spring Walk

Art
We did some observational drawings today of signs that Spring has finally sprung. This is the start of our natural art topic, where we will compare our art works to that of Andy Goldsworthy.

Today they had to look closely at natural objects and draw what they saw. They LOVED being outside and getting to use the Year 1 garden.

Happy Easter

Good day! Hope everyone has had a lovely holiday. I've had a productive 2 weeks.

I enjoyed doing some baking with my dad. We made some awesome cinnamon buns!

I did some singing with my band.

We went for a walk around Tatton Park

Made some table decorations

And did a bunch of assessment and planning for the next term.

So I have this crazy idea for next half term, Summer 2. Doing some kind of sewing project. Last year we just sewed our names into cotton Aida. It focused mostly on the different types of stitches you can do; running stitch, cross stitch and backstitch. This year we are very good with our fine motor skills so I don't doubt they would be capable of these stitches. But I fancied doing something a bit more exciting and creative this year.

How about making their faces out of fabric. This means that it is more of a creative 3D art project rather than a purposeful design piece of work. However, it does mean that I may need to ask for some help for finding a variety of fabric and materials to construct the faces with. I'm going to have a look at what resources we have in the art cupboard and what I can order in. I've found some good felt for the faces on Hobbycraft so I'll pop to get those before half term. Let me know what you think, or how you may be able to help, sewing is HARD.

3 more sleeps. See you Monday
